Here is a quick and easy project for DIY brides or for anyone looking to add some serious oomph to their dinner table decor.

DIY Lamp Centerpiece Materials

Our design was for a vibrant and modern multicultural wedding uniting our Indian bride, Jyoti and our Jewish groom, Larry. We just received the reception photos yesterday, so we’re excited to share the end result of our own personal DIY.

But be creative and make it your own with a lampshade and filler that reflects your personal style. The options are endless!

Just this morning I felt a slight chill in the air — such a treat following weeks of stifling heat. And the perfect inspiration for a post on what’s trending in centerpieces.

As much as we love flowers of all shapes and sizes, we are seeing such creativity in the use of unexpected elements such as fruits, veggies and legumes. Such a perfect fit for the Fall season.

Our Louise Georges Yves styling team has used a variety of seasonal items such as fruit and berries to brighten up our settings in unexpected ways. Check out a few of our LGY designed faves from some recent Vibiana weddings — tangelo filled lamps, a kale infused wreath and a kumquat draped escort card display.

Fall in Love With Color

With September coming in and the first few sights of fall not too far away, our Louise Georges Yves team has some thoughts on how you can embrace Fall’s inspired pops of color. The seasonal color palette released by Pantone is a splendid array of vibrant jewel tones contrasted with subdued nature inspired neutrals.
Pantone Fall 2013
So how can you add those beautiful hues of blue and green for the fall? You could set the stage with a Mykonos Blue hued invitation suite, complement your table with an Emerald Green napkin or accent your outfit with super cute peep toes.

What about those punchier oranges? Try a pop of clementines, an unexpected petticoat underlay or the idyllic ceremony spot with nature providing the perfect Koi colored backdrop.
Orange Fall Wedding
Are you drawn to deep reds and purples? Check out these bold statements — larger than life geronimo balloons, a swirling Sambaesque petal design and chic lounge furniture in a near perfect match to Acai.

The Louise Georges Yves Event Styling & Design team has gathered plenty of floral accessory inspiration from the subtle to the more daring.

Louise Georges Yves Trend Alert :: Muted Metallics

, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Shimmery Metallics have once again made their way across the runway, but rather than the bright shine we’re used to seeing for fall and the holiday season, this season’s metals are toned down and a bit more subdued.

Feeling inspired, our Louise Georges Yves styling team decided to take this trend of dusty, muted metals and create a concept board of sorts just for you.

DIY :: Wine Bottle Table Number

, , , , , , , , , , , ,

Last night we had one of our favorite couples over for wine and this morning we awoke to a few empty bottles and a bit of a headache, but it seemed like the perfect time to post this DIY tutorial on creating wine bottle table numbers!

Step 1: Place the Bottles in warm water to soak.
Step 2: Use the Label Scraper and Goo Gone to remove the label.
Step 3: Place the stencil on the bottle and apply paint.
Step 4: Step back and admire your handy work

DIY Wine Bottle Table Numbers

Wine bottles have such a wide array of colors, shapes, and sizes that it should be a snap to find one that fits the design of your wedding or event. And if you are lucky enough to live near a vineyard or perhaps a local wine bar, you can probably ask for a couple of cases of empty bottles at no charge. Ours are actually port bottles from Ponte Winery in Temecula and I just love the added impact of the wax dripping down the neck.

Style Inspiration :: Urban Industrial

, , , , , , , , , , ,

Not a fan of blinged out ballrooms? Feeling like you’ve seen one too many mason jars turned rustic country centerpiece? Well, my lovelies, you happen to be in luck!

The “Urban Industrial” or “Industrial Chic” trend that’s growing in popularity strikes a perfect juxtaposition between urban grit and casual chic. Inspired by industrial warehouses, artist lofts and city streets, this theme could very well be the spark you need to create a space with just the right dose of grit and just a hint of glam. And to help get those gears turning, our Louise Georges Yves event design team has curated an assortment of inspirational images.

Industrial Chic Wedding

You won’t find any ruffles and lace here and that’s bound to put a smile on many a groom’s face. By personalizing cool, alternative venues like city rooftops, modern galleries, or funky warehouses, you can create a truly unique aesthetic for your upcoming nuptials.

Urban Wedding Decor
With masculine and feminine undertones, brides and grooms can easily find some common ground — of course you just want to make sure it’s a gritty asphalt street or a polished concrete floor 😉
